Eleutherococcus senticosus oder Eleutherokokk-Wurzel wird auch Taiga-Wurzel genannt und gehört zur Familie der Araliengewächse (Araliaceae). Da sie in Sibiren vorkommt, spricht man auch von der Taiga-Wurzel bzw. vom sibirischen Ginseng. Daneben ist die Pflanze in Japan, Korea und Nordchina beheimatet.
