Bereits ein geringer Mangel an Vitamin B12 führt zu Befindlichkeitsstörungen wie allgemeine Schwäche, Müdigkeit, Gedächtnisstörung, Muskelschlaffheit und (Schleim-) Hautproblemen. Ist der Vitamin B 12-Mangel langanhaltend, kann es zudem zu einer Blutarmut kommen. Wichtige Quellen sind u.a. tierische Produkte wie Fleisch und Eier.
