Description (from a shop): Propionsäure, auch als Propansäure bekannt, gehört zu den kurzkettigen Fettsäuren. Neben ihr zählen auch Essigsäure und Buttersäure zu den wichtigsten Vertretern dieser Stoffgruppe. Kurzkettige Fettsäuren entstehen natürlicherweise bei Fermentationsprozessen und kommen beispielsweise in Käse oder Sauerteig vor. NatuGena Propionsäure 1000 enthält Natriumpropionat, die Salzform der Propionsäure. Diese Variante ist stabil und nahezu geruchlos. Im Unterschied dazu ist reine Propionsäure flüchtig und besitzt einen intensiven Eigen¬geruch.
