Irwin Wood Auger Drill Bit – 10502769

The Irwin IRW10502769 is a 22mm diameter auger drill bit with a 191mm overall length, offering a substantial size for major structural applications, heavy construction fasteners, and large-scale joinery work. This larger diameter is particularly useful for substantial structural bolts, major fixings, and applications requiring significant through-holes in heavy timber construction and engineering projects. Engineered for all general wood boring, this auger bit delivers superior performance in demanding large-diameter structural applications. The single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother quality finish suitable for major structural fasteners, whilst the hexagon shank prevents slipping in drill chucks or bit extensions under the considerable torque generated when boring 22mm diameter holes. The solid centre provides extra rigidity whilst boring, essential for maintaining accuracy with this substantial diameter where cutting forces are high. The self-feeding screw point provides faster boring in both soft and hard woods, significantly improving productivity on major construction projects, and the fully hardened body from tip to shank provides extra durability under the demanding conditions of large-diameter structural boring.
