Irwin Wood Auger Drill Bit – 10502740

The Irwin IRW10502740 is a long series 6mm diameter auger drill bit with an extended 400mm overall length, specifically designed for deep boring applications where standard length bits cannot reach. This specialist bit is invaluable for timber frame construction, deep post holes, electrical installations through thick beams, and any application requiring extended reach whilst maintaining a smaller diameter hole. Designed for all general wood boring, this long auger bit offers superior performance even at extended depths. The single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother quality finish throughout the entire bore depth, whilst the hexagon shank prevents slipping in drill chucks or bit extensions during prolonged drilling operations. The solid centre provides extra rigidity whilst boring, which is particularly important with longer bits where deflection can be problematic. The self-feeding screw point provides faster boring in both soft and hard woods, reducing operator fatigue during deep hole drilling, and the fully hardened body from tip to shank provides extra durability. Features and Benefits: • 6mm diameter with extended 400mm length for deep boring applications • Long series design reaches where standard bits cannot • Single spur cutting edge maintains clean finish at depth • Solid centre construction critical for preventing deflection in long bits • Self-feeding screw point reduces effort during extended drilling • Fully hardened body withstands demanding deep boring operations Specifications: Diameter (mm): 6 Overall Length (mm): 400 Working Length (mm): 323 Pack Qty.: 1
