Irwin Wood Auger Drill Bit – 10502738

The Irwin IRW10502738 is a 5mm diameter auger drill bit with a 150mm overall length, making it ideal for pilot holes, dowelling work and smaller fastener applications in both soft and hardwoods. This compact bit is particularly useful for furniture assembly, cabinet making and precision joinery where smaller diameter holes are required. Designed for all general wood boring, this auger bit offers superior performance through its carefully engineered cutting geometry. The single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole to deliver a smoother quality finish, whilst the hexagon shank prevents slipping in drill chucks or bit extensions, ensuring consistent power transfer. The solid centre provides extra rigidity whilst boring, preventing deflection even in harder timbers. The self-feeding screw point provides faster boring action without requiring excessive pressure, and the fully hardened body from tip to shank guarantees extra durability for extended service life.
