Nutrition and Supplements Fatty acids and omegas NaturesPlus Ultra Omega 3-6-9 Supplement / 90 Softgels Ultra Omega 3/6/9 is a dietary supplement rich in omega 3, omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids from borage, fish and linseed oils. The balance between the different essential fatty acids determines the synthesis and activity of prostaglandins, hormone-like substances whose function is to promote smooth muscle contraction, reduce blood pressure and regulate gastric secretions, in addition to exerting a certain influence on other hormones. For these processes to be properly regulated, there must be a balance between Omega 3, 6 and 9 in the diet. Due to the use of refined vegetable oils in prepared foods, many people today do not consume enough Omega-3 Fatty Acids to maintain an optimal balance between Omega-3 and 6.
