TREND Hinge Jig

The Trend Hinge Jig is a portable template designed for recessing hinges in wooden doors and frames. It accommodates hinge lengths from 67–127 mm and widths from 9.5–35 mm, and is suitable for doors between 1955–2032 mm in height with thicknesses from 16–44 mm. The jig uses the hinge itself as a pattern, eliminating conventional marking-out steps and enabling quick setup. It is designed for use with light-duty routers fitted with a 1/4 inch collet, requiring a long-reach router cutter of 12 mm diameter and 70 mm overall length. The set includes four apertures, two bradawls, a 16 mm guide bush, a T-handle hex key, a 4 mm spacing gauge and a plastic storage tube. Angled position slots prevent creep, and clean, accurate recesses are achieved consistently on timber-based doors with square butt hinges.
