The human intestine is home to a huge population of bacteria. Some 100 trillion bacteria populate the human intestine, a number that is 10 times greater than the number of cells in the human body. Due to the magnitude and importance of intestinal bacteria, this microbial population can be viewed as a bacterial organ, about the size of your liver and very important. There are about 400 species of bacteria in the gut including Bacteroides, Lactobacillus, Clostridium, Fusobacterium, Bifidobacterium, Eubacterium, and Peptostreptococcus. Gut bacteria with ingredients identified as suitable in food supplements include Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus species. It is essential for the maintenance of human health that a balance be maintained between these species. How to use: As a dietary supplement, take one to three capsules a day with water at mealtime, or follow your doctor's recommendations.
