Wera 838 RA-R L Ratchet Screwdriver

The Wera 838 RA-R L is a premium bitholding ratchet screwdriver designed for tradespeople who need speed, precision, and versatility in a single hand tool. Built around Wera's trusted Kraftform handle design, it delivers ergonomic comfort during extended use without the blisters and fatigue associated with conventional screwdrivers. The ratchet mechanism features fine toothing integrated directly into the handle, enabling rapid screwdriving with minimal effort. An innovative spinning function kicks in when a screw offers little resistance, keeping workflow smooth and uninterrupted. Direction switching is entirely intuitive — rotating the ring switch clockwise engages clockwise drive, counterclockwise for reverse, and position 0 locks the ratchet off for precise, controlled work. Bit changes are handled by Wera's Rapidaptor quick-release chuck, compatible with 1/4" external hexagon drive bits to DIN ISO 1173-C 6.3 and E 6.3 (ISO 1173), requiring no additional tools. A strong permanent magnet retains bits securely during use. The dual-zone Kraftform handle combines hard material zones for fast hand repositioning with softer grip zones for maximum torque transfer — ideal for electricians, joiners, and general contractors working across a variety of fastening tasks.
