Irwin Wood Auger Drill Bit – 10502770

The Irwin IRW10502770 is a long series 22mm diameter auger drill bit with an extended 400mm overall length, designed for deep boring applications requiring this substantial structural hole diameter. This specialist bit is indispensable for major structural timber work, substantial services installation through thick beams, heavy post preparation, and construction applications where both large diameter and exceptional reach are essential. Designed for all general wood boring, this long auger bit offers superior performance in the most challenging large-diameter deep-hole structural scenarios. The single spur cutting edge scribes the circumference of the hole for a smoother quality finish throughout the entire substantial bore depth, whilst the hexagon shank prevents slipping in drill chucks or bit extensions during extended, heavy-duty structural drilling operations. The solid centre provides extra rigidity whilst boring, absolutely critical for preventing deflection when drilling 22mm diameter holes at extended depths through structural timbers. The self-feeding screw point provides faster boring in both soft and hard woods whilst maintaining tracking accuracy in substantial deep bores, and the fully hardened body from tip to shank provides extra durability under the considerable forces encountered during deep, large-diameter structural operations.
