The Elta Versaline VL250 is an all metal inline centrifugal fan for 250mm circular ducting, moving up to 835 m³/h in free air and rated in the Elta datasheet to 400 Pa. It is built for low airflow, medium pressure systems and its compact casing suits ceiling void mounting.The galvanised steel casing comes with integral mounting brackets and 25mm spigots for flexible or rigid duct. The single phase motor is IP44 with Class F insulation, sealed for life bearings and a non self resetting thermal cut-out, and arrives with a flying lead and UK 3 pin plug. It has 3 speeds wound into the motor, giving 835, 778 and 734 m³/h in free air. It suits jobs that are already ducted in 250mm, where staying on the same duct size saves reducers.It is for indoor use only, and because of its non self resetting cut-out Elta say it must not be fed through a timer or from a circuit that is regularly switched on and off. For a light switch or timer run bathroom fan, choose a fan designed for intermittent switching instead.Why choose this over alternativesA backward curved centrifugal impeller holds its airflow against duct resistance far better than an axial in line fan of the same size, and it is non overloading and self cleaning. The all metal casing is a sturdier choice than plastic mixed flow units in plant spaces and ceiling voids.On paper the 250mm unit moves slightly less free air than the Elta VL200 (835 against 875 m³/h), so choose between them on duct size. For more air, the Elta VL315 moves up to 1231 m³/h.Installation notes Fix the fan with the bracket set supplied. It can be mounted at any angle, but a vertical outlet needs a weatherproof cover on the ducted outlet. Fit at least 1m of straight duct, the same diameter as the spigots, on both the inlet and outlet. Elta recommen
